Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan is poised to make a significant leap in its communication infrastructure with the launch of its latest modern Communication Satellite, MM1, scheduled for Thursday, May 30. The satellite, known as PAKSAT MM1, will be launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) in China.

According to state-run broadcasters, the SUPARCO MM1 satellite represents the culmination of extensive efforts by Pakistani scientists and engineers. It is designed to meet the growing communication and connectivity needs of the country.

SUPARCO officials have highlighted that the satellite will facilitate Pakistan’s entry into the digital era by providing internet access to remote areas. Project Director PakSat MM1, M. Imran, expressed the team’s excitement for the upcoming launch, stating, “Our team is very excited for the upcoming launch of PakSat MM1 on May 30.”

PakSat MM1, built with advanced communication technologies, is expected to play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan, aiding in the transformation into a “Digital Pakistan.” The launch ceremony will be broadcast live from SUPARCO’s Islamabad and Karachi establishments.

The satellite will help establish a sophisticated communication network, meeting the increasing demands of the telecom sector. Its capabilities will address the need for high-speed internet and seamless connectivity. SUPARCO stated, “This high-power multi-mission satellite will provide communication services in C, Ku, Ka Bands and SBAS services in L Band.”

Usman Iftikhar, Project Manager MM-1, emphasized that the primary goal of the PAKSAT MM-1 satellite is to enhance Pakistan’s communication infrastructure. “The satellite will serve unserved areas, support tele-education, e-health, e-governance, and e-commerce, thereby transforming Pakistan into a digital powerhouse,” he said.

He further noted that robust communication infrastructure is essential for the development of any country, and this satellite will ensure connectivity in remote regions of Pakistan. PAKSAT MM1 is a communication satellite that will be placed in a Geostationary Orbit, providing services such as broadband internet, TV broadcasting, mobile backhauling, and VSAT connectivity.

The launch of PakSat MM1 marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s technological advancement, heralding a new era of digital connectivity and economic progress.
