PM Chính Begins Two-Day Visit to Laos
Vientiane, , The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính arrived in Vientiane on Thursday morning, commencing a two-day official visit to Laos at the invitation of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone. The visit underscores the close ties between the two neighboring nations and their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
PM Chính was warmly welcomed at Wattay International Airport by Minister-Head of the Lao Prime Minister’s Office Buakhong Nammavong, Lao Deputy Foreign Minister Phonsavan Sisoulath, Vientiane’s city leaders, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyễn Minh Tâm, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Laos.
Key Agenda Highlights
The Vietnamese leader will co-chair the 47th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee alongside his Lao counterpart. This high-level meeting aims to further bolster cooperation across a range of sectors, including politics, economics, culture, and education. PM Chính will also co-chair the Laos-Vietnam Investment Cooperation Conference, a key platform to explore new economic opportunities.
During his visit, PM Chính is scheduled to hold talks with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, meet with other senior Lao leaders, engage with former Lao leaders, and work with key ministries in Laos. He will also participate in joint Vietnam-Laos events, reinforcing the deep-rooted friendship between the two countries.

This visit seeks to implement the agreements reached during the Politburos’ meeting of both countries in September 2024 and lay the groundwork for the upcoming 2025 trilateral meeting among the ruling parties of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
