PM Chính Highlights Strategic Vision in Road Construction Project in Hung Yen

Hung Yen, The Gulf Observer: In a move underscoring Hung Yen innovative thinking and strategic vision, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính declared that the construction of a new road connecting the Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway with the Cau Gie – Ninh Bình Expressway is a landmark development. This project, he emphasized, will significantly shorten travel distances between Hung Yen and Hanoi, as well as other localities across the nation, fostering new development spaces, reducing logistics costs, and propelling the rapid and sustainable growth of the province.
PM Chính made these remarks on Sunday at the inauguration ceremony of the road construction project during his working visit to Hung Yen Province. The new road, stretching 23.83 kilometers, begins at Lý Thường Kiệt Commune in Yên Mỹ District and ends at Phương Chiểu Commune in Hưng Yên City. It connects to the section through Hà Nam Province, ultimately linking to the Cầu Giẽ – Ninh Bình Expressway. Designed for a vehicle speed of 80 kph, this road aims to enhance the operational efficiency of the two expressways and alleviate traffic congestion in Hanoi.
To further support goods transportation and public travel, Hưng Yên is also constructing service roads with a speed limit of 80 kph. The total investment for these roads is VNĐ 1.41 trillion (USD 55.4 million), with an expected completion date in September 2024. Xuân Trường Construction Enterprise is overseeing the construction of the project.
During the event, PM Chính expressed gratitude to the residents who sacrificed their land for the project and praised the construction teams for completing the project eight months ahead of schedule. He emphasized that the inauguration is only the beginning and called on Hung Yen Province and related ministries to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the road, maintain its good condition, complete the intersections, and consider upgrading the road to an expressway by the end of 2025.
Later that day, PM Chính attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Tân Phúc – Võng Phan road project, where he also presented gifts to the construction teams. This road, spanning 29.2 kilometers with an investment of over VNĐ 2.98 trillion (USD 117.2 million) from local budget funds, will pass through 14 communes in the districts of Ân Thi, Tiên Lữ, and Phù Cừ. The project is expected to be completed within 720 days and will intersect with various major roads, thereby connecting different parts of the province, the region, and the country.
In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony, PM Chính highlighted the strategic importance of the Tân Phúc – Võng Phan road in breaking the isolation of the province’s three poorest districts. He urged the province, the project management board, and contractors to continue their coordinated efforts to complete land clearance and build related infrastructure in a synchronised manner. As of now, over 89% of the 175 hectares of land required for the project has been cleared.
Earlier that morning, PM Chính visited Thăng Long Industrial Park, the largest and most modern industrial park in Hưng Yên Province. The park, a joint venture including Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation, covers over 525 hectares with a total investment of over USD 206 million. During his visit to the Mektec Manufacturing Corporation Vietnam Factory, PM Chính lauded the efforts in developing the park, which focuses on attracting high-tech industries. He also inspected the factory’s facilities for workers and encouraged the company to continue supporting the workers’ material and spiritual well-being, fostering a strong bond between the employees and the company.
