PM Shehbaz Sharif Extends Warm Felicitations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Independence Day

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the auspicious occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day.

In a formal message addressed to President Aliyev, the Prime Minister conveyed the warm greetings of the people and Government of Pakistan, emphasizing the deep-rooted and historically brotherly ties that bind the two nations. He noted that the bilateral relationship is marked by mutual trust, unwavering solidarity, and consistent support for each other’s core national interests.

Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged President Aliyev’s strong leadership in guiding Azerbaijan and appreciated his steadfast support for Pakistan during recent regional tensions with India. He also expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani people for their resolute solidarity, describing the bond between the two countries as that of true brothers whose destinies are closely intertwined.

Reflecting on his recent visit to Baku in February 2025, the Prime Minister recalled the warm hospitality and fruitful discussions held with President Aliyev. He expressed confidence that the current momentum in high-level interactions would lead to meaningful and tangible progress across various domains of mutual cooperation.

Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to elevating the bilateral relationship into a broad-based, mutually beneficial economic partnership and expressed eagerness to welcome President Aliyev to Pakistan at the earliest opportunity.

Concluding his message, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes for President Aliyev’s continued health and success, and prayed for enduring peace, prosperity, and progress for the brotherly people of Azerbaijan.
