Doha

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday held a meeting with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit convened in Doha following Israel’s recent attack on Qatar on September 9, 2025.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present during the meeting.

The two leaders held extremely warm and cordial discussions, exchanging views on the situation arising from Israel’s aggression against Doha. Prime Minister Sharif strongly condemned the attack, terming it a deliberate attempt to derail ongoing Middle East peace efforts. He conveyed deep appreciation for the bold and sagacious leadership of the Saudi Crown Prince in unifying the Ummah at this critical juncture.

The Prime Minister assured Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Pakistan’s full diplomatic support, particularly at the United Nations Security Council, where Pakistan currently serves as a non-permanent member, as well as at all other multilateral fora, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He noted that the convening of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit in Doha had sent a strong message of unity, demonstrating that Muslims worldwide spoke with one voice against Israel’s unlawful and reckless aggression, which threatens regional peace and security.

Reaffirming the historic and deep-rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for the Kingdom’s steadfast support to Pakistan in all circumstances. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in turn, highlighted his anticipation of Prime Minister Sharif’s forthcoming State Visit to Riyadh later this week, which he said would provide an opportunity for a comprehensive exchange of views on bilateral, regional, and global matters.

Prime Minister Sharif also conveyed his warm respects and regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Crown Prince expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister’s leadership and Pakistan’s active diplomatic efforts, including at the UNSC and OIC, to show solidarity with Qatar at this critical time.
