Political System Reform a Revolutionary Task Requiring Unity and Perseverance: PM Chính

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on June 14 emphasized that the ongoing restructuring of the political system’s organisational apparatus and the reorganisation of the two-tier local administration structure is a revolutionary process that necessitates strong determination, resolute action, and cohesive implementation at all levels.

Addressing a national training conference held by the Hồ Chí Minh National Academy of Politics on the organisation and functioning of Party bodies, local administrations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and political mass organisations at the commune level, PM Chính acknowledged that this profound reform process comes with both opportunities and challenges.

As a revolutionary transformation, the Prime Minister noted, the restructuring effort is bound to face a transitional period requiring time for adaptation and institutional adjustment. “It should not be approached with perfectionism or haste,” he stressed. “Rather, it must be carried out methodically, step by step, with perseverance, and grounded in continuous learning from practice.”

PM Chính underscored that this reform is not only aimed at creating broader, more robust platforms for national development but more importantly at transforming the mindset of the political system’s operational framework — from a reactive posture to a proactive one that seeks timely and effective solutions for the benefit of the people and the business community.

“This shift in governance philosophy is the most critical aspect of the reform,” he said, urging participants to fully grasp its significance during the training conference to ensure consistency and effectiveness throughout the system.

The Prime Minister called on the country’s press and media agencies to enhance public awareness and understanding of the reform process, particularly in promoting unity in thought, direction, coordination, and action. He emphasized the importance of effective policy communication to gain the support and trust of the people.

He also instructed that any arising issues or obstacles during implementation be promptly reported for appropriate solutions.

Expressing optimism, PM Chính stated his belief that with the current momentum, new driving forces, and consolidated resources, the restructured two-tier local administration system will function efficiently and deliver concrete benefits to the people.
