Prabowo and Gibran Raka Elected as President and VP of Indonesia

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: The General Election Commission of Indonesia (KPU) has formally announced Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the next President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. This historic determination was made official through KPU Decree Number 360.
The declaration of the winners of the 2024 presidential election was disclosed by KPU Chairperson Hasyim Asy’ari in Jakarta late on Wednesday. The national results were solidified on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 22:18:19 WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
Chairperson Hasyim Asy’ari revealed that out of 164,227,475 valid votes cast, the Prabowo-Gibran ticket secured 96,214,691 votes (58.59 percent). In contrast, their closest contenders, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, garnered 40,971,906 votes (24.95 percent), while Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD obtained 27,040,878 votes (16.46 percent).
The General Election Commission conducted simultaneous plenary meetings to announce the recapitulation of vote counting results across 38 provinces and 128 overseas election regions. Prabowo-Gibran emerged victorious in 36 provinces, while Anies-Muhaimin claimed victory in two provinces. Ganjar-Mahfud failed to secure a win in any province.
The president-elect and vice president-elect are scheduled to be sworn into office on October 20.
