Prabowo Subianto Pledges Commitment to Labor Rights and Public Welfare

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing labor rights and public welfare during a significant address at the Labor Party’s third-anniversary celebration held in Jakarta on Wednesday.
In a video broadcast during the event, Prabowo expressed his longstanding dedication to advocating for the rights of workers. “I have long been fighting alongside you, my brothers and sisters, with workers throughout Indonesia, for the rights and welfare of workers, farmers, fishermen, and all Indonesian people,” Prabowo stated.
He emphasized his efforts to address the needs of citizens lacking access to essential welfare services, despite the country’s independence. Prabowo extended an invitation to labor unions and Labor Party members to join him in promoting an economy grounded in the state ideology of Pancasila, rather than the principles of neoliberal capitalism.
“An economy based on neoliberal capitalism is often incompatible with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. Therefore, I hope we can continue to work together, support, encourage, and correct each other,” he remarked.
Prabowo underscored the necessity of autonomy in managing the nation’s wealth and asserted that combating corruption is crucial to achieving such independence. “We must prevent and have the courage to eliminate corruption, misappropriation, and denial of the Constitution we love. We must stand with the weakest,” he said.
Looking ahead to his inauguration as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia on October 20, Prabowo assured that he will remain steadfast in his commitment to safeguarding and managing national wealth for the benefit of all Indonesians.
“With economic and social justice, I believe the livelihood of all Indonesians will improve,” Prabowo concluded, reinforcing his vision of a fair and equitable future for the nation.
