President Aliyev, Prime Minister Sharif Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Peace Initiatives

Baku, The Gulf Observer: On August 10, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a telephone conversation with Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
During the call, the two leaders fondly recalled Prime Minister Sharif’s visit to Azerbaijan, the bilateral and trilateral meetings held in Lachin in the Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Pakistan format, as well as his participation in the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Khankendi.
The discussion underscored the importance of agreements reached during President Aliyev’s recent visit to the United States, particularly the Joint Declaration signed by the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump. Both sides emphasized that these accords, along with other signed documents, are vital for ensuring lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, acknowledging President Trump’s pivotal role in facilitating the outcomes.
Prime Minister Sharif congratulated President Aliyev on the achievements and highlighted the significance of the agreements in advancing regional stability.
The leaders also exchanged views on further enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy, energy, trade, and investment, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
