President Berdimuhamedov Inaugurates New Glass Production Plant in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday attended the opening ceremony of a new glass production facility within an industrial complex in northern Ashgabat, state media reported.
Ahead of the commissioning, the Head of State toured an exhibition highlighting achievements of the national construction and industrial sector, which featured samples of locally produced goods ranging from building materials to electronic components.
The newly launched plant, equipped with cutting-edge technology, operates entirely on domestically sourced raw materials such as quartz sand, dolomite, and limestone. With a daily production capacity of 100 tons of glass containers, the facility’s processes include melting at temperatures up to 1,500 degrees Celsius, molding, cooling, and automated quality control.
A modern laboratory has also been established at the plant, furnished with instruments from leading international manufacturers to conduct strength tests, geometric measurements, and load resistance analyses, ensuring compliance with international quality standards.
The quality of the plant’s output has been certified by Germany’s Horn Glass Industries, as well as Italy’s Vetromeccanica and Bottero. During the inauguration, President Berdimuhamedov presented the enterprise’s management with keys to new vehicles and specialized equipment.
In his remarks, the President emphasized that new villages, social infrastructure projects, and a modern park in Ashgabat will soon be inaugurated as part of the celebrations marking Turkmenistan’s 34th Independence Day.
The launch of the plant is expected to generate hundreds of jobs, meet domestic demand for glass containers, and open avenues for exports. The reliance on local raw materials is anticipated to reduce production costs and enhance the competitiveness of Turkmen products in foreign markets.
