President Erdogan Condemns Gaza Situation and Calls for International Action
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned the situation in Gaza, describing it as the “world’s largest extermination camp” and accusing Israel of committing atrocities that will “outshine Hitler.”
In a speech delivered on Tuesday in Ankara, Erdogan criticized Western leaders and organizations responsible for ensuring international security, stating they have “only watched this brutality from afar for almost 300 days.” He questioned how many more children need to die before recognizing that Israel’s invasive policies endanger the entire region.
Erdogan called for an immediate halt to what he termed Israel’s “brutality and barbarism,” emphasizing the urgent need for international intervention. He accused Israel of seeking security through “aggression, massacres, and land seizure,” likening its actions to those of a “terrorist organization.”
“The lawless Israeli state is a threat not only to Palestine and Lebanon but to humanity as a whole, to the entire world at this point,” Erdogan asserted.
Additionally, President Erdogan announced his intention to call Pope Francis to discuss the “immorality committed against the Christian world” during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. The ceremony faced significant backlash for featuring a drag queen parody of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, which many viewed as disrespectful to religious beliefs.
“Disgraceful scene in Paris offended not only the Catholic world, not only the Christian world, but also us as much as them,” Erdogan stated. “Immorality displayed at the opening of the Paris Olympics once again highlighted the scale of the threat we face.”
Erdogan’s remarks underscore his call for global solidarity and action against perceived injustices and the need to address threats to international peace and security.
