President Erdogan Vows Türkiye’s Continued Struggle Against Terrorism
Corum, The Gulf Observer: In a resolute address delivered at a rally in Corum, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s unwavering commitment to combatting terrorism until the nation is entirely liberated from its grasp. Campaigning for upcoming local elections, President Erdogan emphasized the enduring resolve of Türkiye in confronting the menace of separatist terrorism.
President Erdogan underscored the relentless efforts undertaken by Türkiye to thwart terrorist threats, particularly highlighting the challenges posed by the establishment of a terrorist corridor in neighboring Syria and the onslaught of attacks perpetrated by terror group Daesh. He underscored Türkiye’s successful repulsion of these threats through decisive military operations conducted in northern Syria, near the Turkish border.
Highlighting strategic victories achieved in neutralizing terrorist strongholds, President Erdogan referenced operations in key areas such as Gabar, Tendurek, and Bestler-Dereler. These operations, aimed at eliminating the root causes of terrorism, have significantly bolstered Türkiye’s security apparatus and safeguarded its borders from infiltration and attacks.
President Erdogan emphasized Türkiye’s enhanced capabilities in combating terrorism, citing the instrumental role played by armed unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in detecting and neutralizing terrorist elements up to 300-350 kilometers from the border. Leveraging advanced technology, Türkiye stands poised to effectively dismantle terrorist networks and preserve national security interests.
Since 2016, Türkiye has undertaken a series of successful anti-terror operations across its border in northern Syria, including Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019). These operations have been instrumental in preventing the formation of terrorist enclaves and facilitating the peaceful resettlement of residents, underscoring Türkiye’s steadfast commitment to combating terrorism and fostering regional stability.
