President Ilham Aliyev Denounces Corrupt Politicians Supporting Armenian Diaspora at Global Baku Forum

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the opening ceremony of the 12th Global Baku Forum, criticized long-standing foreign political support for the Armenian diaspora, highlighting corruption among Western politicians.

In his address, President Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan had raised concerns regarding this issue with Armenian representatives and their new allies in Brussels. He remarked on the shift in Armenia’s political alignments, stating, “Because now they have changed, the big brother today is Brussels. Until President Trump won, it was the State Department, it was USAID. It was corrupt American politicians like Menendez, who are now facing serious problems.”

He further emphasized that former U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, currently facing legal challenges, was not the only figure involved in such practices. “Menendez should not be the last one. As they say, one swallow does not make a summer. There are many more who put Armenian money in their pockets,” President Aliyev noted, naming U.S. politicians Adam Schiff, Frank Pallone, and Nancy Pelosi among those who, for decades, received financial backing from Armenian diaspora organizations to criticize and discredit Azerbaijan.

The 12th Global Baku Forum, a significant platform for international dialogue, continues to host discussions on regional and global issues, with Azerbaijan asserting its stance on political transparency and external interference in regional matters.
