President Ilham Aliyev Inaugurates Mud Volcanoes Tourism Complex
Absheron District, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attended the official opening of the Mud Volcanoes Tourism Complex in the Absheron district. The event marked a significant milestone in the development of Azerbaijan’s tourism infrastructure.
Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, provided an overview of the new complex to President Aliyev. Spanning an area of 12 hectares, the Mud Volcanoes Tourism Complex includes an administrative building and various facilities designed to attract tourists and enhance their experience.
The establishment of the complex has created over 60 job opportunities for local residents, particularly benefiting those from surrounding areas. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to boosting local employment and supporting regional development.
A key feature of the complex is the Tourism Information Center, which houses an exhibition hall and a workshop. The Nature History Exhibition Hall within the center boasts a diverse collection, showcasing 98 animal skeletons from Azerbaijan and around the world. This exhibition aims to educate visitors about the rich natural history of the region.
In addition, the Minerals exhibition highlights nearly 80 types of minerals found across Azerbaijan, offering insight into the country’s geological wealth.
To cater to visitors, a 110-seat restaurant has also been constructed on the premises, providing a comfortable dining experience amidst the scenic beauty of the complex.
The opening of the Mud Volcanoes Tourism Complex is expected to significantly enhance the tourism appeal of the Absheron district, drawing both domestic and international tourists to explore the unique natural phenomena and cultural exhibits on display.
