President Ilham Aliyev Meets President Erdogan in Ankara
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan held a one-on-one meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye in Ankara, according to media reports. The leaders celebrated the successful development of their countries’ brotherly, friendly, and allied relations across various sectors.
During their discussions, Presidents Aliyev and Erdogan focused on expanding cooperation in energy, transportation, economic, and trade relations. They also highlighted the significance of collaboration in the defense and military industries. A key point of their conversation was the expansion of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway capabilities and the development of the Middle Corridor, a vital trade route linking East and West.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States and between their nations. They noted the upcoming informal summit in Shusha, which aims to strengthen these bonds.
President Erdogan confirmed his participation in the Shusha Summit and extended his congratulations on Azerbaijan’s upcoming hosting of COP29. President Aliyev reiterated his invitation for Erdogan to attend COP29, which the Turkish President gladly accepted.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international issues, underscoring the strategic alignment and mutual support between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
This meeting reflects the deep and multifaceted relationship between the two countries, as they continue to work closely on shared goals and regional stability.
