President Ilham Aliyev Meets with PM of Luxembourg in Oxford
Oxford, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, met with the Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Luc Frieden, in Oxford at the request of the Luxembourgish side, according to media reports.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg. Prime Minister Frieden emphasized the importance of gaining more comprehensive information about Azerbaijan and the surrounding region, noting that regional stability is crucial for Luxembourg. He highlighted that Luxembourg’s regional policy maintains a balanced character. President Aliyev provided insights into regional processes and stressed the significance of a balanced policy towards the region, as well as respecting the positions of all involved parties.
The discussion also focused on the potential for developing bilateral relations based on mutual respect and trust. Both leaders exchanged views on cooperation in various sectors, including high technology, healthcare, investments, and transportation.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted Azerbaijan’s close relations with the European Union and its member states. The importance of the European Political Community platform as a vital venue for discussions was underscored.
The significance of Azerbaijan’s hosting of COP29 was also noted, with Prime Minister Frieden expressing his intention to participate in the event.
This meeting marks a step forward in strengthening the ties between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg, promoting cooperation and understanding between the two nations.
