President Ilham Aliyev Praises Role of International Association of Judges in Promoting Judicial Independence

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev has lauded the International Association of Judges (IAJ) for its significant contributions to upholding judicial independence and advancing the rule of law globally.

In his address to the participants of the 67th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Judges, President Aliyev highlighted the association’s enduring role in fostering international judicial cooperation and strengthening justice systems worldwide.

“Bringing together national judges’ associations from nearly 100 countries, the International Association of Judges has, since its establishment, become an important institution that has undertaken major initiatives to safeguard judicial independence, strengthen the rule of law, and enhance the quality and efficiency of the administration of justice,” the President said.

He emphasized that the IAJ has evolved into a vital platform for dialogue and collaboration among judicial bodies across the world, serving as a foundation for the continuous improvement of justice systems.

“Today, the International Association of Judges also serves as a space for international dialogue and cooperation aimed at enhancing the judiciary, one of the fundamental pillars of the rule of law,” President Aliyev noted.

The 67th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Judges brought together representatives from nearly 100 countries to discuss pressing issues in global justice administration, judicial ethics, and the protection of judicial independence in the modern era.
