President Joko Widodo Leads Key Meeting on 2025 State Budget Draft
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Joko Widodo, accompanied by Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto, led a limited meeting at the Presidential Office on Monday to review the government’s work plan, financial notes, and the 2025 State Budget Draft (RAPBN).
During the meeting, President Jokowi was positioned centrally, flanked by Minister Prabowo on his right and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno on his left. In his opening remarks, President Jokowi emphasized the need for the 2025 RAPBN to integrate the programs of the incoming administration, led by President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“The 2025 RAPBN draft must accommodate all the programs planned by the new government,” Jokowi stated, underscoring the importance of aligning the budget with future policy goals.
The President also highlighted the necessity of preparing for potential global economic challenges, including the risks of a food crisis and rising oil prices, which could be exacerbated by an economic slowdown and escalating geopolitical tensions.
Additionally, President Jokowi called for measures to optimize state revenue targets within the government’s work plan.
The meeting was attended by a range of high-ranking officials, including Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Also present were Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of National Development Planning and Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman. Additionally, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Chief of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Agus Subiyanto were in attendance.
The meeting focused on ensuring a comprehensive and forward-looking approach to Indonesia’s fiscal and economic planning.
