President Mirziyoyev Hosts Delegation from Azerbaijan to Advance Bilateral Ties

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan warmly welcomed a delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan led by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov. The delegation arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent Investment Forum, marking a significant step in bolstering bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, Minister Mikayil Jabbarov conveyed the sincere greetings and good wishes of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan to President Mirziyoyev. The discussions centered on further enhancing the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and advancing practical cooperation in alignment with previously established agreements.
It was noted that mutual trade turnover between the two nations witnessed a commendable increase of 27 percent last year, further augmented by an additional 15 percent since the beginning of the current year. Both parties underscored the importance of continuing to implement cooperation projects across various sectors including automotive industry, energy, agriculture, electrical engineering, textiles, and tourism.
Emphasis was placed on expanding the portfolio of joint projects, with particular attention to leveraging resources from the Joint Investment Company. In preparation for upcoming summit meetings, both sides agreed to convene a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the second Forum of Regions, aimed at delineating the economic agenda and fostering greater collaboration.
Furthermore, discussions encompassed regional cooperation, with the achievements of the trilateral meeting between the ministers of economy and energy of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan receiving commendation for their potential to further regional integration and prosperity.
The meeting between President Mirziyoyev and the Azerbaijani delegation epitomized the shared commitment of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to deepening their multifaceted partnership for the mutual benefit of their peoples and the broader region.
