President Mirziyoyev Reviews Proposals to Enhance Education Quality in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reviewed several proposals aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Uzbekistan. The proposals primarily focus on improving teacher qualifications, modernizing the knowledge assessment system, and integrating advanced educational technologies.
A key initiative includes the introduction of a new teacher certification system utilizing advanced technologies. This system saw participation from over 190,000 teachers, resulting in the upgrade of categories for 51,000 teachers. It has been proposed that starting from September 2025, salaries for teachers with the highest and first qualification categories will be increased.
In efforts to further develop the education system, a significant proposal was made to establish the National Institute of Educational Pedagogy. This new institute will be based on the existing Research Institute of Pedagogical Sciences of Uzbekistan named after Kara-Niyazi. Its mission will include strengthening the interaction between schools, parents, and communities, as well as developing educational literature and conducting scientific research.
Additionally, the Presidential Schools Assessment System was implemented in 500 schools last year, leading to an increase in student achievement from 53% to 59%. Due to its success, this assessment system will be expanded to an additional 1,000 schools starting from the new academic year. These schools will be paired with 182 specialized schools and the 500 schools that previously tested the system.
This suite of initiatives aims to elevate the quality of education, foster greater student engagement in the learning process, and ensure that educational standards in Uzbekistan meet contemporary needs.
