Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the newly reconstructed Imam Bukhari complex in the Payariq district of the Samarkand region, marking a significant cultural and spiritual milestone for Uzbekistan.

At the heart of the complex lies the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari, one of Islam’s most revered scholars. During the visit, the Head of State paid homage at the mausoleum, where verses from the Holy Quran were recited and prayers were offered.

Speaking on the eve of the sacred holiday of Ramadan Hayit, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the enduring legacy of Imam Bukhari, widely known as the “Sultan of Muhaddiths.” He highlighted the scholar’s unparalleled contribution to the Islamic world through his compilation of hadiths, regarded as the most authoritative source after the Holy Quran.

“We once again pay deep respect to the blessed memory of our great compatriot,” the President said. “We have every right to take pride in our sacred land for having given the world such a renowned scholar.”

The President noted that the reconstruction of the complex reflects the collective dedication and efforts of the Uzbek people. He described the site as a unique pilgrimage destination developed to match the global stature and recognition of Imam Bukhari.

“Thanks to the selfless efforts of our people, our aspirations and intentions have come true today. We have succeeded in building this complex to a level befitting Imam Bukhari’s high status,” he stated, congratulating the nation on what he termed a historic achievement.

The newly rebuilt complex is expected to serve as a major center for religious tourism and spiritual reflection, especially during significant Islamic occasions such as Ramadan Hayit.
