President of Azerbaijan Receives Credentials from Newly Appointed Pakistani Ambassador
Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the credentials of Qasim Mohiuddin, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, NHC reports.
Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin formally presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. Following the presentation, the President engaged in a conversation with the ambassador.
During the meeting, President Aliyev fondly recalled his state visit to Pakistan, highlighting the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He described this hospitality as a testament to the strong friendship, brotherhood, and partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
President Aliyev emphasized the significance of his visit to Pakistan, noting that it facilitated discussions on a wide range of cooperation matters and led to the signing of several important documents. He stated that the visit marked a new phase in Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations, with new areas of cooperation in investment and energy being identified. The President stressed that both countries are actively working to implement the decisions and agreements made during his state visit, including executing the signed documents. He highlighted the importance of the preferential trade agreement, noting that relevant institutions are working to enhance this document.
Furthermore, President Aliyev positively assessed Pakistan’s stance of not establishing diplomatic relations with Armenia due to the occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories, even after the liberation of these lands and the restoration of full sovereignty. He described this stance as a manifestation of true friendship and brotherhood. The President reiterated that the political support from Pakistan’s leadership during the Patriotic War was immensely significant for Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev wished Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin success in his diplomatic activities.
Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin expressed his gratitude for the kind words and reception, conveying sincere greetings from the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, to President Aliyev.
President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked the ambassador to convey his sincere greetings to the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The ambassador expressed his deep affection for Azerbaijan and his pride in representing Pakistan in such a beautiful country. He assured that he would spare no effort in pursuing the strategic cooperation areas determined during President Aliyev’s state visit to Pakistan. He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s support for Pakistan, particularly its just position on the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
