President of China invites Turkmen President to Central Asia-China Summit
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat received Ma Zhaoxu, Special Representative of the President of China and First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China in the rank of Minister. During the meeting, Mr. Ma Zhaoxu conveyed an invitation to the President of Turkmenistan sent by President Xi Jinping to attend the upcoming “Central Asia + China” Summit on May 18-19.
In this regard, Ma Zhaoxu said that the Chinese side expects the Head of Turkmenistan to attend the event, the official Turkmen media reported.
The Turkmen President emphasized that the steady development and strengthening of relations with China, which are acquiring new meaning and content today, is one of the priorities of the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan, and thanked the leadership of China for the invitation to participate in the summit “Central Asia + China”.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral cooperation, which has great potential to build mutually beneficial relations, taking into account the current realities and opportunities.
At the end of the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov and the Special Representative of the President of China, the First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China in the rank of Minister Ma Zhaoxu expressed confidence that the fruitful interstate relations will continue to develop dynamically.
