President of Germany arrives in Oman
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier of the Federal Republic of Germany and his spouse arrived in Muscat on Monday on an official three-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister led the welcoming party for the German President and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival at the Royal Airport.
The German President was also received by Eng. Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Mission of Honour), Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (Minister accompanying the guest’s spouse), Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Ambassador of Oman to Germany, Dirk Lölke, Ambassador of Germany to Oman and members of the German Embassy in Muscat.
The President of Germany is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Dr. Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the Foreign Ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dirk Lölke, Ambassador of Germany to Oman, Wolfgang Silbermann, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Office of the Federal President and a number of German officials.
The visit will explore the joint areas of cooperation that serve the two countries’ interests and aspirations. It will also discuss the current regional issues.
