President of Turkmenistan Holds Talks with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held high-level talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday in Ashgabat, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.
Welcoming the head of Russia’s foreign policy department, President Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that Minister Lavrov’s visit to the Turkmen capital and the ensuing discussions would serve to further strengthen the strategic Turkmen-Russian partnership. The president also conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to President Vladimir Putin, reaffirming that Russia remains a key strategic partner for Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on pressing issues of bilateral cooperation and reiterated their shared commitment to deepening mutual ties. It was emphasized that Turkmen-Russian relations rest on a solid foundation of friendship and good neighborliness.
The two countries continue to enhance their political dialogue, maintain active working-level contacts between relevant governmental agencies, and expand interparliamentary cooperation. Additionally, regular consultations between the foreign ministries are a key element of the ongoing diplomatic engagement.
Earlier the same day, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov also held a separate meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to further discuss matters of mutual interest and cooperation.
