President of Turkmenistan Leads Mass Bike Ride in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Today, Turkmenistan marked World Bicycle Day with a grand mass bicycle ride in the capital city, Ashgabat. The event was spearheaded by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, showcasing the country’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and sustainable transportation.

Early in the morning, thousands of enthusiastic participants gathered at the iconic “Bicycle” monument to commence the ride. As reported by the International Information Center (IIC) with reference to SalamNews, the event saw a diverse assembly of riders, including members of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, heads and employees of government agencies, representatives of public organizations, as well as staff from diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan.

Leading the column, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov guided the cyclists along Bitarap Turkmenistan Avenue, heading towards the heart of Ashgabat. In a demonstration of the city’s dedication to the event, streets along the designated route were cleared of motor vehicles, ensuring a smooth and safe ride for all participants.

The ride was further enlivened by vibrant performances from musicians, artists, and creative groups stationed along the route, who greeted the cyclists with spirited displays, adding to the festive atmosphere of the occasion.
