President of Uzbekistan to Attend Third UN Conference on LLDCs in Turkmenistan

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: At the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will undertake a working visit to Turkmenistan on August 4–5 to participate in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs).
The high-level event will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, bringing together UN Secretary-General António Guterres, heads of state and government, and leaders of international and regional organizations.
The conference will focus on strengthening international cooperation to enhance transport connectivity, simplify trade procedures, support economic transformation, and increase resilience to climate change and environmental challenges. A key objective of the conference is to advance progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration and a comprehensive Programme of Action is expected at the conclusion of the gathering.
In addition to participating in the main conference, President Mirziyoyev will also attend a special event dedicated to preparations for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State. On the sidelines of the visit, he is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with regional and international counterparts to discuss issues of mutual interest and further cooperation.
