President Pezeshkian Emphasizes Role of Local Experts in National Projects

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday underscored the importance of prioritizing local experts and specialists in the implementation of national projects across Iran.
Speaking at an online ceremony to inaugurate a major oil and gas project in Ilam Province, western Iran, the president stressed that relying on so-called “flying managers” was ineffective and should no longer be practiced. “Priority should be given to local professionals,” Pezeshkian said, highlighting the need for indigenous expertise in driving national development.
The project inaugurated in Ilam focuses on the collection of associated or flare gases from oil fields in the south of the province. According to Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, the initiative is expected to generate an estimated $700 million annually by preventing gas wastage, while also contributing to increased revenues.
President Pezeshkian noted that the project would play a key role in supporting downstream industries, thereby fostering job creation, stimulating economic growth, and addressing both financial and environmental challenges. He urged engineers and managers to pursue the project with full dedication to ensure its long-term success.
Referring to the timeline set for the completion of major projects by 2028, Pezeshkian called for the establishment of a special task force to accelerate implementation. He reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to provide all necessary support in line with the vision outlined by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
