Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, currently on an official visit to Muscat, has underscored the importance of enhancing Iran’s bilateral cooperation with Oman, calling for greater efforts to tap into the full potential of both nations.
During separate high-level meetings on Wednesday with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, and Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, President Pezeshkian emphasized that bolstering bilateral relations is vital to securing shared interests.
“The two neighboring countries have enough potential to expand cooperation,” Pezeshkian stated, adding that there is strong political will on both sides to deepen ties. He affirmed that his administration is fully prepared to pursue comprehensive collaboration with the Sultanate.
The discussions also addressed key regional and international developments, with a focus on facilitating trade, investment, and broader economic engagement. President Pezeshkian reiterated that lasting peace and security in the region must be maintained through joint efforts by regional actors.
“We have always emphasized that regional peace and security must be maintained by the countries of the region,” the president noted.
Omani officials, in turn, welcomed Pezeshkian’s visit, describing it as a constructive step toward further advancing bilateral relations. Both Deputy Prime Minister Al Said and Foreign Minister Al Busaidi voiced support for continued dialogue and cooperation, emphasizing the mutual benefits such engagement would bring to both nations.
