President Pezeshkian Urges Muslim Unity to Counter Oppression and Israeli Aggression

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized that unity and solidarity among Muslims are the key to confronting oppression, warning that divisions within the Islamic world only serve to embolden Israel in committing further crimes in Gaza and across the region.
Speaking on Monday at the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, President Pezeshkian called on Muslims to act as “one hand” in defending their rights and preventing atrocities.
“If Muslims are united and avoid discord, the Zionists will never be able to carry out such crimes in Gaza and regional countries,” he said.
Recalling the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) legacy of promoting brotherhood and cohesion, Pezeshkian urged Muslims to live up to that example. “If we truly are followers of the Prophet, we must, with our unity and solidarity, not allow the brutal Zionist regime to commit these crimes before the eyes of Muslims and the world,” he added.
The Iranian president underlined that the real challenge lies not with Israel or the United States, but with internal divisions among Muslims. “If the Islamic community were united, no power would dare encroach upon the rights of Muslims,” he stressed.
Pezeshkian also criticized Western double standards, noting that even minor actions within Islamic societies are often distorted and labeled as human rights violations. “They accuse us of trampling on human rights, while their version of human rights does not spare children, women, and the elderly as they commit genocide,” he said, adding that the West exploits Muslim divisions to fuel conflicts and sell weapons, all while plundering the region’s resources.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to regional solidarity, Pezeshkian declared, “We will not quarrel with any Muslim country. With full determination, we remain committed to the cohesion and unity of the Islamic community.” He pledged Iran’s brotherhood with Iraqis, Palestinians, Egyptians, and all Muslims, stressing that such unity would prevent the United States and Israel from sowing discord.
The president also referred to the 12-day war waged by Israel and the US against Iran, asserting that their goals failed due to Iran’s resilience and the unity of the Islamic community. “Yes, we had missiles and brave fighters who struck the enemy hard. But the strongest blow came from the unity of the Islamic community, which frustrated their plans,” he said.
Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to Islamic countries for condemning Israeli crimes but stressed the need for stronger, more unified action. “It is a heavy responsibility on all of us, especially religious scholars, to bring dignity and honor to the Islamic community,” he concluded.
