President Prabowo Arrives in Moscow for Strategic Talks with Vladimir Putin

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Moscow on Monday morning via Vnukovo International Airport, marking his third presidential visit to Russia aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and advancing strategic cooperation.
According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, the visit underscores Indonesia’s firm commitment to deepening engagement with Russia across key sectors. Upon arrival, President Prabowo was received by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, Director of the State Protocol Department Igor Bogdashev, Indonesian Ambassador Jose Tavares, and Defense Attaché Air Vice-Marshal Budi Susilo.
The visit’s central agenda includes a one-on-one meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with discussions expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in energy, economic development, and other strategic areas of mutual interest.
Indonesia is seeking to leverage the visit to reinforce its policy of active diplomacy and to build mutually beneficial partnerships globally. The government views Russia as a key partner in contributing to global stability and fostering economic growth while advancing Indonesia’s national interests.
President Prabowo departed Jakarta on Sunday night from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Ahead of the visit, Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that the leaders would exchange views on recent geopolitical developments, including global energy security concerns. The president has also emphasized the importance of securing stable energy supplies for Indonesia amid disruptions in global distribution, particularly linked to restricted shipping access through the Strait of Hormuz.
In recent remarks, President Prabowo reaffirmed that Indonesia’s diplomatic outreach is driven by economic priorities, noting that sustained international engagement is essential to maintaining stability, especially in the energy sector.
The visit reflects Indonesia’s proactive approach to navigating evolving geopolitical challenges while strengthening ties with key global partners.
