President Prabowo Backs Gaza Peace Agreement at Sharm El-Sheikh Summit

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto joined more than 20 world leaders in expressing support for the Gaza peace agreement signed by United States President Donald Trump, along with the Presidents of Egypt, Türkiye, and Qatar, in Egypt on Monday.
President Prabowo conveyed Indonesia’s support while witnessing the signing ceremony of the Gaza peace deal document, which marked the culmination of the Gaza Peace Summit held at the Sharm El-Sheikh International Convention Center in Sharm el-Sheikh City.
During the event, President Prabowo was seated directly behind Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and joined other leaders in applauding as the historic peace agreement was signed by the leaders of the United States, Egypt, Türkiye, and Qatar.
In his address, President Trump remarked, “We will sign a document that contains many rules, regulations, and other things. It’s very comprehensive.” He described the summit as highly successful, noting that it had helped to resolve conflicts “that have lasted for 500 to 3,000 years.”
President Trump extended his gratitude to President Sisi for hosting the summit, as well as to President Erdogan of Türkiye—whom he referred to as a “strong man”—and the Emir of Qatar for their constructive roles. He also thanked world leaders who accepted the invitation from the United States and Egypt to attend the Gaza Peace Summit, which commenced at around 5:00 p.m. local time.
Following the signing ceremony, President Sisi and President Trump issued a joint statement to the media. President Sisi spoke first as host, followed by President Trump, who expressed appreciation for the efforts of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in supporting the peace process.
Upon being mentioned, President Prabowo approached President Trump, and the two leaders exchanged a handshake during the press conference.
Among the leaders who attended and endorsed the agreement were Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Ahmad Al Abdullah Al Sabah, and the Presidents of Palestine and Bahrain.
Other attendees included the Presidents of Azerbaijan and France, the German Chancellor, and the Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Greece, Armenia, Hungary, Pakistan, Canada, Norway, and Iraq, as well as the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and the Foreign Minister of Oman.
