President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Inaugurates New Border Guard Complex in Sarahs

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, participated in the official inauguration of a newly constructed border guard complex of the State Border Service in Sarahs on Friday, Turkmen state media reported.

The state-of-the-art complex includes a main administrative building, parade ground, 300-seat cultural center, barracks for servicemen, a sports and wellness facility, and a modern dining hall. Additionally, residential housing for 144 families of military personnel has been constructed, fully equipped with essential amenities.

Equipped with advanced technologies and digital systems, the facility ensures round-the-clock monitoring of Turkmenistan’s national borders. The project underscores the steady enhancement of the material and technical base of the National Army, alongside continued improvements in the living standards of military personnel.

During his visit, President Berdimuhamedov toured key sections of the complex, including the barracks, residential housing, canteen, retail outlets, and a modern medical center. He also inspected recreational areas designed for servicemen’s families and children.

While reviewing military equipment, the President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the material and technical capacity of the country’s defense and law enforcement agencies. He emphasized the importance of raising the professional qualifications of personnel, particularly young officers and soldiers entrusted with operating modern equipment.

The commissioning of the new Sarahs border guard complex, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, was described as a symbolic and significant gift to the nation’s border service members.
