President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Congratulates Nation on New Year 2026, Outlines Key Priorities

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the New Year 2026, highlighting the country’s achievements in the outgoing year and outlining key priorities for the year ahead.
In his New Year address, President Mirziyoyev described 2025 as a year of major transformations and accomplishments, marked by growing public confidence in the future despite global challenges. He noted that Uzbekistan had successfully achieved all the goals set for the year, with gross domestic product exceeding 145 billion US dollars for the first time, firmly establishing the country as a middle-income economy.
The President said the positive impact of economic growth was reflected in improved quality of life, rising household incomes, strengthened mahalla communities, and increased confidence among young people. He noted that millions of families experienced positive changes during the year, including celebrating new homes, expanding businesses, and taking pride in personal achievements and the successes of their children in science, culture, sports and other fields.
Looking ahead to 2026, President Mirziyoyev said the government would continue to mobilize greater opportunities to ensure a happy, prosperous and healthy life for every family, provide young people with quality education, help them acquire future-oriented professions, and encourage broader participation in sports.
He announced that 2026 has been declared the Year of Mahalla Development and Social Prosperity, under which the infrastructure of thousands of mahallas will be improved to reflect the vision of a New Uzbekistan.
The President emphasized that all sectors of the economy would transition toward a model of technological and innovative growth, with continued efforts to increase incomes and the purchasing power of the population. He also pledged expanded support for vulnerable groups, including those in need of assistance, veterans, women and youth.
Environmental protection, the development of green energy, and the rational use of water resources will remain key priorities in the coming year, he said, adding that all reforms and initiatives in 2026 would be directed toward creating the most favorable conditions for citizens and for business.
Expressing confidence in the collective efforts of mahalla leaders, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, youth and the broader public, President Mirziyoyev said every citizen would play a meaningful role in advancing the country’s development.
Concluding his address, the President wished all citizens health, happiness and prosperity in the New Year, and expressed hope for continued progress, peace and stability for Uzbekistan.
