President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Visits Turkish Aerospace Industries
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: As part of his official visit to the city of Ankara, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), according to media reports. The visit provided an opportunity for President Mirziyoyev to familiarize himself with the company’s range of manufactured products, its production processes, and the outcomes of TAI’s scientific collaborations with international partners, as noted by the press service of the Uzbek president.
Founded in 1984, Turkish Aerospace Industries stands as Türkiye’s premier technology hub for the design, development, modernization, production, and integration of aerospace systems. The company’s expertise spans fixed and rotary-wing air platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles, and satellites. In 2023, TAI earned a place among the world’s 100 largest defense companies, boasting an annual revenue of approximately $1.5 billion.
TAI employs over 15,000 people, including about 7,000 engineers and more than 6,500 technicians, reflecting its significant role in the aerospace industry.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev also explored the operations of several other Turkish defense industry enterprises that specialize in the development and production of a wide array of weapons and military equipment. The tour included aviation demonstration flights, showcasing the advanced capabilities of Türkiye’s defense technology.
This visit underscores the growing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in the fields of defense and aerospace, marking a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties and technological exchange between the two nations.
