President Tokayev Attends Flag-Raising Ceremony, Celebrates Day of State Symbols

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The Head of State, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, attended a solemn flag-raising ceremony at the Atameken ethno-memorial complex in Astana. The ceremony marked the Day of State Symbols of Kazakhstan, a significant event symbolizing the strengthening of the nation’s statehood. This news was reported by the Akorda press service.

President Tokayev congratulated those present, emphasizing the importance of the national holiday. “Let our sky-blue banner fly proudly! Honoring the flag is the sacred duty of every citizen. Our flag, soaring in the blue sky, fills each of us with a sense of respect for our Motherland,” he stated.

He highlighted the recent achievements of Kazakhstan, noting that the national flag has been proudly displayed at many international sports tournaments, thanks to the victories of the country’s athletes. Notably, the first Kazakh climber recently raised the banner over Mount Everest, and with the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Paris, he expressed confidence that the flag would fly high over the arenas, celebrating further victories of Kazakh athletes.

President Tokayev also spoke about Kazakhstan’s commitment to peace, unity, and accord, values that have fostered friendly relations with countries around the world. He remarked that the blue-sky flag of Kazakhstan is globally recognized as a symbol of unity and solidarity. Kazakhstan’s dedication to the principles of friendship and mutual respect further enhances this recognition.

Reflecting on the significance of the state symbols, President Tokayev mentioned that they embody the fundamental values and ideals of the nation, evoking a deep sense of pride among citizens. These symbols, he noted, unite the people of Kazakhstan during both challenges and triumphs.

In a tradition that has become customary on the Day of State Symbols, President Tokayev, as the Commander-in-Chief of Kazakhstan, awarded military ranks. He bestowed officer’s shoulder boards to 12 outstanding graduates of the higher military educational establishments, recognizing their excellence and commitment.

The ceremony at the Atameken ethno-memorial complex was a profound reminder of Kazakhstan’s national identity and pride, as the country continues to honor its heritage and celebrate its achievements on the global stage.
