President Tokayev Chairs Meeting on National Economy and Budget Planning

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a meeting at Akorda on Wednesday to review the state of the national economy and budget planning issues, the presidential press service reported.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Chief of the President’s Executive Office Aibek Dadebay, National Bank Governor Timur Suleimenov, Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, along with other senior officials.
Participants presented reports on the current economic situation, future development prospects, and parameters of the national budget for 2026–2028.
President Tokayev underscored the importance of ensuring quality planning and effective distribution of financial resources at both republican and local levels. He stressed the need to maintain budget balance, guarantee the financing of all social obligations, and align fiscal policy with the long-term development plans of the regions.
The Head of State further highlighted that strict oversight must be exercised to ensure the designated use and efficient utilization of budgetary funds.
