Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his heartfelt congratulations to the women of Kazakhstan on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Akorda presidential press service reported.

In his congratulatory message, President Tokayev said the celebration reflects the deep respect and appreciation for the “beautiful half of humanity.” He described women as a source of inspiration, creativity, and beauty, emphasizing that many of the world’s finest qualities are associated with the image of a woman.

The Kazakh leader noted that women carry numerous responsibilities, often going beyond what are traditionally considered women’s roles. Despite challenges, he said, women consistently embody wisdom, resilience, determination, responsibility, and reliability.

President Tokayev highlighted women’s remarkable ability to transform society for the better, describing them as capable of turning “twilight into dawn,” achieving the seemingly impossible, and even helping establish peace where conflicts exist. “A woman is the soul of the nation,” he said, adding that women play a vital role in shaping the worldview of younger generations, instilling patriotism, discipline, and a passion for knowledge.

Recalling the country’s rich history, Tokayev paid tribute to the legendary daughters of the Great Steppe whose wisdom, heroism, and dedication remain an enduring part of Kazakhstan’s national heritage. He said modern Kazakh women continue this tradition of service across various sectors, including education, healthcare, science, government, business, the arts, agriculture, and the armed forces.

The president also highlighted Kazakhstan’s ongoing path of large-scale modernization aimed at shaping the country’s future. He stressed that the foundations of the proposed constitutional reforms focus on safeguarding the nation’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while protecting the rights and interests of its citizens.

According to Tokayev, the draft constitutional amendments submitted to referendum are designed to strengthen the protection of motherhood and childhood, as well as reinforce the institution of marriage and family. The reforms also aim to improve the well-being of the population and promote principles such as respect for the law, environmental responsibility, justice, diligence, and constructive patriotism.

President Tokayev expressed confidence that the knowledge, integrity, and energy of Kazakhstan’s women will play a crucial role in building what he described as a “Fair and Progressive Kazakhstan.”
