President Tokayev Emphasizes Turkic Unity and Regional Stability at OTS Summit in Gabala

Gabala, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan delivered a keynote address at the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
In his remarks, President Tokayev expressed sincere gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart, President Ilham Aliyev, for the warm hospitality extended to the participating delegations and underlined the particular importance and timeliness of the summit’s agenda.
Highlighting the deep historical bonds among Turkic nations, President Tokayev stated, “We consistently emphasize that the history of the Turkic peoples goes back to common roots, and that our nations share a single origin that stretches deep into the centuries. All of this serves as the golden core of brotherhood and the eternal unity of our peoples.”
He further noted that the recent celebration of the Day of Cooperation of Turkic States symbolizes the strengthening of solidarity among Turkic nations. “Today, the Organization has become an influential and respected body uniting the fraternal Turkic peoples,” he added.
President Tokayev also conveyed his appreciation to President Sadyr Zhaparov of Kyrgyzstan for his country’s effective chairmanship of the OTS and expressed confidence that the Organization will continue to grow stronger under the leadership of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev.
Turning to global developments, the Kazakh leader observed that the international security system is currently facing a difficult and uncertain period, marked by conflicts, geopolitical tensions, and emerging challenges that threaten global stability.
“In these unstable times, I would like to especially highlight the recent signing of the Declaration on Peaceful Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” President Tokayev said. “This historic document ended a conflict that had remained unresolved for more than 30 years and laid the foundation for strengthening stability and economic growth in the region.”
Underscoring the need for collective action among Turkic nations, Tokayev emphasized that cooperation and unity are essential in confronting shared challenges. “Today, the international community recognizes us as strong and united states capable of withstanding serious challenges,” he noted.
He also welcomed growing global interest in the activities of the OTS and expressed Kazakhstan’s support for establishing the ‘Organization of Turkic States+’ format. According to President Tokayev, the initiative aims to further expand cooperation and enhance the international standing of the Organization.
“The current geopolitical situation is extremely complex, which is why the Turkic countries must act together in their shared interests,” President Tokayev concluded, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening unity and solidarity among the Turkic world.
