President Tokayev Highlights SCO Achievements, Stresses Global Unity and Security

Tianjin, The Gulf Observer: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the Council of Heads of State meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), media reports said, expressing gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping for hosting the summit and extending a warm welcome in the historic city of Tianjin.
In his remarks, President Tokayev congratulated President Xi Jinping on China’s successful chairmanship of the SCO and emphasized Kazakhstan’s appreciation for China’s consistent efforts to strengthen security, stability, economic cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian ties within the Organization’s framework.
“This summit holds particular significance as it coincides with two historic anniversaries: the 80th anniversary of China’s heroic victory over Japanese militarism and the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II. These milestones remind us of the importance of unity and solidarity for the well-being of people worldwide, the need to preserve historical truth, and the responsibility to instill patriotism and genuine values in future generations,” Tokayev stated.
The Kazakh President underscored the SCO’s standing as an effective and influential international organization, noting Kazakhstan’s full support for the Organization’s core goals, including an equitable multipolar world order, security and stability, non-interference in internal affairs, recognition of sovereign development, fair international trade, and mutually beneficial investment cooperation.
He emphasized that the SCO’s priorities contribute to prosperity, security, and sustainable development for member states in the evolving technological era. “Kazakhstan remains firmly committed to the SCO’s founding principles and considers joint efforts against the ‘three evils’—terrorism, separatism, and religious extremism—as highly relevant. We advocate strengthening the ‘Shanghai Spirit,’ which embodies international solidarity for global peace and security,” President Tokayev added.
