President Tokayev Inspects Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Enterprises in Zhambyl Region

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Amir & D LLP as part of his working visit to the Zhambyl region to inspect enterprises engaged in the production of medical devices and pharmaceutical products, the Akorda press service reported.
During the visit, the President toured the company’s main production workshops and examined samples of finished products. Amir & D LLP manufactures more than 200 types of medical products, including express diagnostic tests for socially significant diseases such as hepatitis B and C, HIV infection and myocardial infarction, as well as tests for detecting narcotic and psychotropic substances. The enterprise currently employs 94 people.
President Tokayev also familiarised himself with the operations of Super-pharm LLP, one of Kazakhstan’s leading manufacturers of medical devices. The company employs more than 600 workers and supplies around 30 per cent of the country’s demand for disposable medical products.
Super-pharm LLP produces a wide range of items, including surgical and procedural kits for various types of operations, all types of medical masks, protective disposable clothing and sanitary-hygienic products. Its product line also includes medical syringes, infusion systems, blood transfusion systems and other essential medical supplies.
During the inspection, President Tokayev underscored the strategic importance of developing Kazakhstan’s domestic pharmaceutical and medical device industry. He stressed that strengthening local production is essential to reducing reliance on imports and enhancing the resilience and effectiveness of the national healthcare system.
