President Tokayev Meets Tajik Parliament Speaker to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan on Tuesday held a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali, with discussions focusing on the prospects of the Kazakh–Tajik strategic partnership and alliance, particularly in the context of interparliamentary cooperation, Akorda reported.
President Tokayev praised the steady progress in bilateral relations and highlighted the significance of the visit for advancing Kazakhstan–Tajikistan cooperation. He emphasized that close interaction between the two countries plays an important role in strengthening regional stability and development.
Rustam Emomali, in turn, expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed greetings from Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. He underscored that Kazakhstan remains a reliable strategic partner and ally of Tajikistan, while also congratulating President Tokayev on the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Kazakhstan. Emomali further noted the constructive collaboration between the parliaments of both nations, aimed at promoting the interests of their peoples.
The talks also addressed practical issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, collaboration in the water sector, and the role of interparliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations, built on principles of friendship, mutual support, and trust.
Concluding the meeting, President Tokayev awarded Rustam Emomali the Order of Dostyq (Friendship), 2nd Degree, in recognition of his contribution to the development and deepening of the Kazakh–Tajik strategic partnership.
