Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: United States President Donald Trump visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi as part of his official state visit to the United Arab Emirates. He was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The visit began with a solemn stop at the mausoleum of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE. President Trump and his accompanying delegation paid tribute to Sheikh Zayed’s legacy, reflecting on his visionary leadership that laid the foundation for values of tolerance, coexistence, and peace that continue to shape the UAE’s national identity and global outreach.
During a guided tour of the mosque’s expansive halls and serene courtyards, President Trump and the delegation learned about the mosque’s vital role as a center for intercultural dialogue and a symbol of mutual understanding among different cultures and faiths.
The delegation also received briefings on the ongoing initiatives of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, which is dedicated to promoting the values of Islam, fostering peaceful coexistence, and enhancing global civilisational exchange.
Further, the US President was introduced to the mosque’s historical and architectural significance. He was presented with an overview of its artistic and structural elements—rich with intricate design work and traditional craftsmanship—that reflect the enduring legacy and elegance of Islamic architecture throughout the centuries.
