President Xi arrives in Bangkok to attend APEC Economic Leaders' meeting

Bangkok, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Bangkok on Thursday to attend the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting and pay a visit to Thailand.

Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan were greeted by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his wife, along with other Thai officials and overseas Chinese living in the Southeast Asian country.

This year’s APEC meeting will be held on Friday and Saturday under the theme “Open, Connect, Balance.”

China is Thailand’s largest trading partner, largest export market for agricultural products and a major source of foreign investment, official data shows. This year also marks the 47th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of the China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
