President Xi Holds Talks with Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto in Beijing

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Indonesian President-elect and Great Indonesia Movement Party General Chairman Prabowo Subianto to Beijing for crucial discussions aimed at fostering deeper strategic cooperation between the two nations.
President Xi extended heartfelt congratulations to Prabowo on his electoral victory and conveyed sincere regards to President Joko Widodo. Reflecting on the robust bilateral relations cultivated over the past decade, President Xi emphasized the remarkable progress achieved under the guidance of the two countries’ leadership.
Highlighting the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway as a flagship project symbolizing the high-quality collaboration between China and Indonesia, President Xi stressed the importance of elevating bilateral ties to a new zenith. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to viewing its relationship with Indonesia through a strategic and long-term lens, with a focus on mutual benefits and shared prosperity.
President Xi underscored the pivotal role of strategic independence, mutual trust, win-win cooperation, and fairness in consolidating the achievements of China-Indonesia relations. Both nations, as major developing countries and emerging markets, share a historical legacy of mutual support in their quests for national independence and development, President Xi noted. In response, President Prabowo expressed his gratitude for being received in China as his first official international visit following his election. Describing China as a significant global player, Prabowo praised the mutual respect and equal treatment characterizing the bilateral relationship.
Prabowo lauded China’s substantial contributions to Indonesia’s economic development and affirmed his administration’s commitment to further enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including trade, economy, and poverty alleviation.
