President Xi Jinping Visits Macau University of Science and Technology
Macau, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) on Thursday morning, underscoring the significance of scientific research and innovation in advancing national development.
During the visit, President Xi, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, was briefed on the progress of two state-level key laboratories at the university. One laboratory focuses on the quality of traditional Chinese medicine, while the other specializes in lunar and planetary science.
Engaging with teachers, students, and researchers, Xi emphasized the importance of fostering talent and advancing scientific exploration to strengthen the nation’s global competitiveness.
President Xi arrived in Macau on Wednesday to participate in events marking the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland, the inauguration of the sixth-term government of the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR), and an inspection tour of the region.
The visit highlights the central government’s continued support for Macau’s integration into China’s broader development framework, including its contributions to innovation and education.
