President Xi Meets Vietnamese PM in Beijing

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Beijing on Wednesday. Prime Minister Chinh is in China to attend the 2024 Summer Davos Forum.

During the meeting, President Xi extended his cordial greetings to Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and Vietnamese President To Lam.

Reflecting on his visit to Vietnam at the end of last year, President Xi noted that he and General Secretary Trong had announced the establishment of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, marking a significant strategic milestone and ushering bilateral relations into a new phase.

Over the past six months, both parties and countries have engaged in close exchanges among high-ranking officials and have seen smooth cooperation in various fields, delivering tangible benefits to both peoples, Xi said.

President Xi highlighted that the world is undergoing unprecedented changes, and both China and Vietnam have demonstrated the strengths of the socialist system by maintaining rapid economic development and long-term social stability.

He emphasized that building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future aligns with the modernization needs of both countries and contributes to regional peace, stability, and the advancement of the global socialist cause.

China is committed to working with Vietnam to uphold solidarity and friendship, strengthen mutual support, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, Xi said. He added that China is ready to collaborate with Vietnam to advance toward modernization and make greater contributions to global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
