President Zardari Confers Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Saudi Naval Chief Vice Admiral Al-Ghoraibi

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, on Monday conferred the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) — one of the country’s highest military honours — on Vice Admiral Mohammad Bin Abdul Rehman Al-Ghoraibi, Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening defence and naval cooperation between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The prestigious award was presented at a special investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Saeed Al Malki, and senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

As per the official citation, Vice Admiral Al-Ghoraibi was lauded as a military leader of exceptional intellect, steadfast commitment, and remarkable administrative acumen. Throughout his illustrious career, he has held critical command and staff roles, earning distinction for his strategic foresight, operational expertise, and unwavering professionalism.

A testament to the strong defence ties between the two nations, Vice Admiral Al-Ghoraibi is an alumnus of the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, where he completed his Master’s degree in 2005. His academic achievements, coupled with his operational leadership, have been widely acknowledged both within the Kingdom and by the broader international defence community through various accolades and advanced military courses.

As Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Al-Ghoraibi has played a pivotal role in promoting bilateral maritime collaboration, including joint naval exercises, personnel training exchanges, and strategic dialogue, thereby significantly enhancing defence relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The award reflects Pakistan’s appreciation for his enduring efforts to fortify military-to-military cooperation, and his pivotal role in nurturing the time-tested brotherly ties between the two nations.
