Presidents of Uzbekistan and Iran Exchange Eid al-Adha Greetings

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian held a telephone conversation on June 5, during which they warmly congratulated each other and the friendly peoples of both countries on the occasion of the sacred holiday of Eid al-Adha. The two leaders exchanged sincere wishes for peace, well-being, and prosperity.

In the spirit of mutual goodwill, the conversation also addressed current issues concerning the further development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran. The leaders expressed satisfaction with the intensification of contacts and exchanges at various levels, including between governments, ministries, and agencies.

Particular attention was drawn to the steady growth in mutual trade, cargo transportation, and the number of joint ventures. The recent successful convening of the regular session of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tehran this past May, alongside a business forum and an industrial exhibition, was highlighted as a significant step in enhancing bilateral economic ties. Notably, the two sides adopted a comprehensive cooperation roadmap for 2025–2027.

Both presidents underscored the importance of continuing collaborative efforts in key sectors such as trade, investment, transport and logistics, industry, and agriculture. They also exchanged views on pressing regional matters and discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.

The telephone conversation reaffirmed the commitment of Uzbekistan and Iran to strengthening their strategic partnership and promoting long-term regional stability and prosperity.
