Prime Minister Chính Arrives in Russia for Expanded BRICS Summit
Kazan, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, accompanied by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived in Kazan on Wednesday morning (local time) to attend the expanded BRICS Summit. The visit is at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chair of BRICS 2024, marking Chính’s first working trip to Russia and the first time a Vietnamese head of government has attended a BRICS Summit.
The Prime Minister of Tatarstan, the First Deputy Mayor of Kazan, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Đặng Minh Khôi were among the officials who welcomed Chính and his delegation at the airport.
This visit is of particular significance as it comes ahead of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Russia next year, reinforcing the enduring friendship between the two countries. It also opens up new opportunities for practical and effective cooperation, in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership shared by both nations.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyễn Minh Hằng emphasized that Chính’s participation in the BRICS Summit reflects Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, and its commitment to multilateralism and diversified international relations. Vietnam continues to position itself as a friend and reliable partner, actively contributing to the international community’s efforts to address global challenges.
Through this summit, Vietnam reaffirms its dedication to promoting multilateral diplomacy, global solidarity, and the rule of law. The country’s participation underscores its proactive and responsible approach to global governance, as well as its support for peace, cooperation, and development, particularly raising the voice of developing nations.
